Nike Airs, Speed Bumps & Character

The Past: Glancing back is tricky. You can trip if you don't pay attention to what is heading your way. Greatness could pass you by while your head is turned. Therefore, eyes forward and forget about what was taken from view. There are reasons. There are always reasons. Some we may never understand in this lifetime. That's okay with me. Just keep moving forward.

Growing up in a trailer park was enlightening, a challenge and statistically real.

The other day I had some time to kill and was in the area. I took the leap to drive through it. Driven past it previously and glanced upon occasion but never made the full 90 degree turn in. Why now? Life is why now...the glance back was a great reminder why...

1.) I played Barbies behind the shed to reduce the trash talk on the basketball court later that day by the boys. = I was wiser than that in elementary. Be aware.

2.) Chilling after a great afternoon/evening of basketball on the merry-go-round, when offered the bong one says, "Nah, I am good." = It's not necessary to have a good time - Be Liberated.

3.) "Journaling" was my favorite past time when not with my friends from school or playing basketball. Turns out it remains my favorite. = Releasing thoughts and ideas is very freeing. Be Adaptable.

4.) Past romantic notions bubble up in adult hood, glancing back on where you came from encourages you to keep dreaming and you will get there. Best part? = We come into this world alone and leave alone. All we take is what is in our hearts. Best way to take goodness is to give goodness even when you've been hurt. Be Kind.

Nike Airs kept me out of trouble.

Speed Bumps mentally remain the same and the additional one's you'll feel.

Character comes in time and experience, keep your eyes on the road ahead.
