This season has been pretty big here at The Shire.
Let's break it down.
Liam turned ten years old on 10/18/2021. A whole DECADE! My heart and soul remember holding him at just three days old and knowing with all my being he was the one for us. He weighs in at 130 lbs. today. Liam's 'stubborn Saint' Bernard is in full effect with his senioritis (avoiding what he doesn't want to). The lab/border collie in him demands more belly rubs these days, along with arthritic hip massages. Not to mention more peanut butter bones. We willingly give them as he's the center of our protection, love, and giggles.
Wednesday, 10/20/2021, the parcel delivery guy was met on the sidewalk by yours truly (and Liam barking like the guardian he is of The Shire and his girls). The delivery fella handed me an envelope with the 1st printed copy of the printed Tamias's Curious Chase.
It was surreal as we were both masked up due to the pandemic. The delivery guy could tell my face was beaming with joy and excitement. I wasn't jumping up and down, but sure the energy of excitement oozed from my eyes.
My heart was beating so fast. I took the envelope and was ecstatic to express to the delivery guy, "You just delivered a dream. This is my first printed copy of a children's story I wrote. So, thank you.". He grinned back, nodded his head, and said, "You're welcome."
When you step back into the house holding a magical piece of a dream, your kiddo witnesses joy, a sense of accomplishment, and pleasure. You both tear up and hug each other, taking it in. They don't understand the feelings expressed fully. They will participate in the song sung to celebrate and dance with you as if you just scored the winning touchdown in a football game. Those moments of watching others reach for the stars are the best lessons anyone could experience. Not only do they see what dreaming and goal setting can feel like, but it inspires others to reach for their stars.
Planning, researching, benchmarking, and taking your time - you also could be singing and dancing.
Just take it one step at a time. Even baby steps are a movement.
Thank you to all those who edited, participated, encouraged, and assisted with guidance for this to be successful. It wouldn't be a thing without you.
Much love.
