This comes from my experiences in hopes to encourage all to just ponder before reacting.

There are so many cliches we could pop into this note...

~ Life is short.

~ Stand strong against the wind.

~ Have a childlike heart.

~ Be you.

~ Be kind.

~ Garbage in. Garbage out.

The question today is, "What does it look like when we look up?".

From what you ask?

~ Your phone.

~ Your food.

~ Your craft.

~ Your beverage.

~ Your sadness.

~ Your disappointment.

~ You being bored.

~ Or...Insert your desired entry here _______________.

As a young person, I looked up from my journals to see sadness and struggle. I recognize this now that I am older as hope and strength. That lesson taught me to process and grow.

What did you see in your youth?

As a young adult, I looked up from working and saving to see disappointment and envy. As an adult, I recognize wisdom and sacrifice. Those lessons taught me security and self-reliance.

What did you see in your young adulthood?

Today I look up from chores to see struggle with loss of love and the weight of giving in to distractions. I am applying those lessons above (to process, grow, security, and self-reliance) to today's adventures. My heart desires to succeed (not procrastinate), give (where possible), and teach (who will listen).

The focus has to change for us to get where we were born to be. Note: This can be an evolving journey based on our life choices. That's the fun part, right?

We are given opportunities in life and it's up to us to choose the best ones for ourselves. We come into this world alone and leave alone. We don't get to take anything but what's in our hearts. As I lay my head on my pillow at night, it's that moment of reflection of gratitude for the day that was given. I camp on what happened and what lessons came from those experiences. Promise, they are not all peachy moments. It's vital we acknowledge, admit, and advance.

Outside of ourselves, folks in our world want to be noticed. What's something you can do during these tough days to tap someone on their shoulder to let them know you're seeing them (not in a creepy way).

Granted, our eyes can deceive us. Be mindful when you watch/listen to others. If we stripped title, fame, and fortune from them, would they still hold your attention? Marketing is a real thing and gets each of us in different ways.

Tune out the white noise and listen to your inner voice. Be still and listen closely. You may be shocked at what it is trying to tell you.

Most importantly, be good to yourself.
